When Tinashe M. stepped onto the MSU campus in 2018, he had one dream — to build software that solves real African problems. What he didn’t know was that his journey would take him far beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.
During his Computer Science studies at MSU, Tinashe joined innovation clubs, built small projects, and later led a student team that developed a mobile app helping local farmers monitor crop diseases. The app caught the attention of a visiting innovation judge — who encouraged him to expand the project.
Fast-forward to 2025: Tinashe is now a Software Engineer at Google, working on AI tools for agricultural development across Africa. He credits MSU for giving him confidence, mentorship, and a community that believed in his ideas.
“MSU didn’t just teach me programming — it taught me to dream boldly,” he says.
A true MSU success story!
