Ruvimbo Chigoba, a Midlands State University alumna from the Department of Visual & Performing Arts, always believed art could change lives. During her time at MSU, she organized campus exhibitions, taught free weekend classes, and created paintings inspired by Zimbabwean culture.
After graduating, she launched “Brush of Africa Studio,” a creative business producing custom paintings, murals, and digital art. Her work quickly gained national attention — and in 2024, she was commissioned to create a large mural for a youth centre in Harare.
Today, Ruvimbo employs three MSU graduates and mentors young artists, proving that passion, creativity, and determination can build an entire career.
“MSU helped me understand my voice as an artist. Now I use that voice to inspire others,” she says.
